The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
My Personal Definition:
In my opinion professionalism is not just showing up on time and looking the part but also finding your part and attacking it using grit, work ethic and will power doing this shows you care and with care professionalism will follow. For example I could sit down and write a paper in a hurry and possibly make mistakes but if I think about what I want to write, take it slow and keep working I will write a much more professional paper.
