COS Internship- Peak Family Professionals
The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
-Time and work management
-Carrer literacy
-Grit and Resilience
-work ethic; Reliable and dependable
-In my personal opinion professionalism isn’t just all about time and work management but about your determination and dedication to what you are doing. Also being attentive to details and caring about what you are doing. Also not just letting everything fall behind. Also conducting oneself with responsobility, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
My dreams and goals are to become a Nurse and deliver babies. Then eventually i want to do something with forensic and Criminology. I will be starting nursing school my senior year in high school at CMU and i will be getting my CNA license by the time i graduate high school. When i graduate high school i will go onto college at CMU and get my nursing license.
-Communication
-Quick Thinking
-Problem Solving
-Passion
-Interpersonal Skills
-Not being afraid to ask questions
Ive always been really shy and its very hard for me to speak up and have an actual conversation with someone, let alone ask someone a question. The staff at Peak made all my questions seem valuable and worth talking about, they always went way of their way to make sure i was taking in the answer they had for my questions. They took time to explain things to me. This internship gave me the confidence to start asking more questions.
-Getting more comfortable with patients
My first day at my site i remember i had to go into a room with a patient i knew nothing about also with a MA i knew nothing about. So i was super scared. Along my way through the semester all of the staff helped me become more comfortable going in a room with a patient and getting their vitals.
I currently work at Crumbl; Crumbl has taught me customer service and problem solving. This is important because to be able to be a Nurse you need to be quick at the work you are doing and be able to explain what you are doing in a calm and collected manner.
At Montrose High school i have been able to take a class called Bio-Med and my Internship COS class. These classes have taught me dedication, perseverance, strong work ethic, and responsibilities.
Give me some feeback!
