WBL INTERNSHIP : MOUNTAIN VIEW THERAPY
The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
My Personal Definition:
To me, professionalism is the ability to set a great example not just in the workplace, but in everyday life. It is the ability to do what is right even if there is no one watching. Being professional allows others to see you as a role model and sets the foundation for a great work environment and helps in the overall success of any workplace.
My Experience
My Resume
Current Experience
I have had the amazing opportunity to intern at Mountain View Therapy at the Montrose hospital. During my time there I am abe to work with patients who have suffered from different problems, from shoulder replacements, to hip and knee replacements. I have been able to learn about the diferent type of work that each different body group requires. Not only have I been able to see the physical side of therapy, I have also been able to connect with patients and see how each thing has impacted their lives.
My Future Plan & Career Statement
For the past 13 years I have dedicated my time to soccer, which has led to a lot of injuries and set backs. I have personally had the amazing help of therapists who have allowed me to gain confidence and strenghth back. Being able to experience this and see how physical theraoists have helped improve my life has given me the desire and motivation to one day be able to do the same for others. I look forward to continuing my education in college and major in pre-med studies, then enter a graduate program to enter the physical therapy field. I want to do this along with playing sports and becoming more experienced and focused on the athletic and athlete side of physical therapy.

Equipment
These are a few pictures and videos of other equipment used at the office. The bars are commonly used for patients who need assisance walking or stepping up after certain procedures like knee and hip replacements. The most interesting machine in this office is the Alter G Treadmill. This is an anti-gravity treadmill which basically takes out all the weight and pressure from your lower body in order to be able to walk or run with less difficulty. Think of it as kind of like running in a pool.
