The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
My personal definition:
Professionalism is not about how nice you can dress or how much fancy words you can use, its about how passionate and how much you are willing to do in order to complete a task, even if its a bad or annoying task, True professionalism happens when you become a leader and keep achieving your goals.
I want to keep setting goals within myself in IT to oversee district or a business in my future, i want to keep learning, keep working and to keep achieving my goals.
I am currently working in a fast food location as a manager after school and during my breaks, there i have learned how to lead a team, mange and count profits and learn effective advertising.
Connections- I wanted to establish not only connections, but to make friendships during my time at the internship, so i could further expand my opportunities. As well as to make a good impression.
Hard skills- I wanted to learn about genuine skills that i would need to use in my future in IT, things like pen testing and exploits
Better time management- in school my time management is subpar to say the least, but being able to be in a actual workplace and see how people manage and think about their time, helped me alot change my time manegment skills
