The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
Time & work management
Career Literacy
Grit and resilience
Work ethic; dependable and reliable
My Personal Definition:
Professionalism is more than just presenting yourself each day and skimming along basic work performance. Professionalism includes growth between all related skills, work ethic- being consistent to both deadlines, coworkers and clients, and the ability to progress and become versatile and knowledgeable of your field.
I strive to be a flexible, knowledgeable individual with the ability to use several current design softwares, deliver unique products and work efficiently between my tasks, their deadlines, and coworkers. To accomplish this goal I am going to work specifically on meeting deadlines consistently to their standards, while also working both directly and indirectly to obtain more skills for different digital softwares to provide flexibility. I will also accomplish this goal by attending Colorado State University, graduating with a major in graphic design, and possibly a minor in buisness.
Question 1: What are some software or specific programs you use in your daily work?
A: Canva. We use Canva quite a bit.
Question 2: What would you say is the biggest challenge for Graphic Designers?
A: I know it may not be the biggest challenge but the challenge I face is interfacing with clients, they often don't give you the full picture of what they want, and they need, so you have to do extra communication back and fourth.
Question 3: If you had to use one program for everything what would you use and why?
A: I would probably say Illustrator. You can do a lot, just enough of a lot, stuff with photos, layouts and such where it may be difficult to do with other programs.
Question 4: How would you handle creative block?
A: I will switch to another project, give it time and work on something else. That way you don't become frustrated with what you're working on.
Question 5: How long will it take to work on some of your projects?
A: It's a wide timelength. There's short projects like small edits, other things like large hundred-page booklets that take twelve or thirteen months.

Career development- Learning skills/software
After school and actively whenever possible, I'm typically working on some form of art project, only currently in traditional mediums (I do not have the softwares on my personal computer yet. ), which includes pens, pencil (graphite & colored), acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, and freeform such as cardboard creatures. I have truly learned both flexibility and a quick-to-adapt mindset through the use of several mediums, and have found myself to be applying it in my current digital learning.
Consistent Deadline Meeting: Consistently meeting deadlines and working to adapt my schedule around multiple work-life tasks while minimizing the stress and trying to be as efficient with its planning as possible.
Communication: Working to be easy to communicate with, informing coworkers on changes in schedule and generally expressing and address ing changes to work-life schedule.
Initiative: Taking initiative to work on tasks without needing to be reminded and problem-solving to either overcome the issue or openly asking coworkers for the right proceeding.
