The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
My Personal Definition:
For me, being professional means embodying a combination of integrity, competence, and respect in all aspects of your work. It involves maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct, demonstrating expertise and proficiency in one's field, and treating others with courtesy and consideration. Additionally, professionalism imbodies qualities such as reliability, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement. It's about representing oneself in organization, and in a manner that inspires trust, fosters positive relationships, and contributes to the overall success and reputation of the team or business.

Q: Tell me about yourself? A: I'm the Customer Service Technician Supervisor and Accountant at the City of Montrose. I've worked here for about 8 months. I went to Colorado Mesa University and graduated with a Marketing and International Business in 2020.
Q: What are some challenges that you face and how did you handled them? A: Sometimes people don't want to pay their delinquent fees when they get shut off.
Q: How do you prioritize your work? A: We have checklists for customer service technicians, so we like to just keep on track like that and whatever that week needs is what we will prioritize.
Q: Do you work well in teams, or do you prefer to work by yourself? A: I like both environments. I like working with the team because it's fun and you get more ideas, more solutions, and then I also like working by myself just because it's nice to concentrate and have that focus time.

Career Statement: As an aspiring professional with a solid foundation from my City Hall internship, I am eager to apply my collaborative spirit and analytical skills. My commitment to public service is matched by a strong desire to contribute effectively within a team setting.
My Future Goals: To graduate from Colorado Mesa University in 2028 with a degree in Hospitality and Management. After that I'd like to explore Government jobs to see if it's still an interest of mine. I'd also like to be a Entrepeneur because I'm determined to not limit myself and take some risk once in awhile.
