COS Internship: Labor and Delivery at Montrose Regional and Urgent Care
The Colorado Department of Education defines "Professional" using the following descriptors:
time & work management
career literacy
grit and resilience
work ethic; dependable and reliable
In my opinion professionalism is not only hard work, time management, and skilled. For example if you want to be more professional at work you make sure you're getting your tasks done on time, and also making sure to stay focused so you can accomplish your tasks.
I strive to be a hardworking and empathetic nurse who aims to help patients in all aspects of care incorporating various heath care options. To accomplish this goal, I will attended medical school upon graduation.
After school and full time during summer, I work as a barista making drinks, cleaning, and food prep for a local starbucks. I have learned to work as a team, various customer service skills.
Service Orientation: acts professionally and calmly at all times when interacting with others; consistently demonstrates concern and courtesy towards colleagues and customers; treats all people respectfully; takes personal responsibility for correcting problems; follows up with individuals to ensure satisfaction with the level of service they have received.
Initiative: takes action to improve a situation without waiting for explicit instructions; understands how one's own actions relate to the University's and department’s strategic goals; recognizes and responds to opportunities in order to reach a goal; seeks new and improved techniques, solutions, and approaches to completing assignments.
Questions: make sure to ask question's so i could understand everything better, and also sound interested. Too reach this goal I got out of my shell and asked questions even if they weren't important to get a better understanding of the environment and the people I'm around.
Communication: I strived to be better at communicating with nurses and patients. This helped me get out of m comfort zone and not be so scared to talk to others.
