Welcome to Choir

The purpose of the Bennett Bear Choir is to take our knowledge from music class and put it into a weekly rehearsal by singing standard choral literature that will take our musical skills and knowledge to the next level.  Choir is a time where we will learn to build a solid foundation of choral singing while focusing on teamwork, commitment, creativity and fun.

Choir will be held on Wednesday this year. Our first rehearsal will be before school Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Students are able to be a part of choir and other school activities.  Please communicate with Mrs. Mac when conflicts arise.  Rehearsal starts at 7:15am sharp and ends at 7:50am when the bell rings.  We will meet every week on  Wednesday, before school.  It is important that every student arrive on time for choir rehearsal to begin promptly at 7:15am, however, please note that the doors do not open to the school until 7:15am, so please wait until this time to drop students off as there will be no supervision until the school opens.

Expectations

Being in the Bennett Bear Choir, is a privilege and your commitment for the entire year  is a must.  I am asking that each choir member understand the expectations for behavior during all rehearsal/performance times.  Our rehearsal time is very short, so it is important that each student follow the listed rules as well as general well-behaved common sense.  Misconduct, disrespectful behavior, and/or continually missed rehearsal will result in the dismissal of the student from the choir without reimbursement for the choir t-shirt.

The following are general rules to follow while participating in the choir.

1.   Maintain a good behavior/conduct grade in all classes.

2.   Maintain a good attitude and always try your best.

3.   No more than 3 unexcused absences (rehearsal and performances).

4.   Eat your breakfast before coming to choir, not during rehearsals.

5.   All members will need a pair of black dress pants or girls may wear a black skirt, for our performances.
