The AA Virtual Science Fair website is a collaboration outreach effort between two competitive engineering firms, Advent Industries and Avanti Technologies. Each team has their own website, and some awesome engineering work to look at! Take a look at them here:
"This website was a challenge to build, but the ultimate benefit of it was worth it. The development of a district wide website tool is a daunting task, but helping kids learn and cope with the sudden changes of the world is the best payment there is. STEM is a hard field to go in to, and even harder to learn. This reality compounded with virtual schooling can be discouraging to everyone, especially the kids. Advent and Avanti alike teamed up to prevent this hardship from happening, or at least making it a little easier for everyone. This website has a lot of love put into it and we hope it shows. Advent and Avanti have so much love for the Long Beach Unified School District, and we will continue to add content and develop this website. The ultimate goal of our outreach branches is social servitude, so please, be our guests."
"As the outreach branches of Avanti and Advent, we recognize the importance of youth interest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. After all, our youth is the next generation of innovators, and their imaginations will usher us into the future—but they have to start somewhere. So, through the development of this virtual fair website, we have strived to construct a hub of learning where students can cultivate their STEM interests through fun, engaging, and educational activities. Especially now, during the ongoing pandemic, as many after-school STEM programs and clubs have ceased operations, we believe that it is our duty to provide these STEM resources to local schools in our community–and we will continue to do so, completely free of charge. Through our efforts, we hope to create memorable experiences that will spark a lifelong love for STEM and ultimately inspire the next generation to pursue STEM-related careers."
