Mrs. Dzielski teaches eighth-grade social studies and economics at our school. We think that this teacher deserved a spotlight because of her dedication to our school and to all of her students. We also feel that her incredible attitude and positivity should not go unnoticed. Mrs. Dzielski has been working in Ken-Ton schools since 2005 where she started right here at West! She then taught every grade at every school in the district before coming back here in 2014, where she’s been ever since. She attended Fredonia and Buffalo State College for teaching, without truly knowing what exactly she wanted to teach since she has always loved both English and History. Ultimately, she chose social studies which personally, we are so grateful for because we never thought there would be someone who could make us enjoy the subject that we hate most. She finds a way to make even the dull topics fun with how well she teaches.
Mrs. Dzielski has always loved school. She used to play school as a kid which is why she always knew she wanted to teach. We can guarantee that many of her past students would say they are very happy that she made this decision because she is kind and understanding. Mrs. Dzielski is super open and personable to all her students which makes them feel very cared for and welcome, especially to the new 8th graders. Personally, we know we can talk to her whenever we need
which makes her such a great person and overall teacher.
Mrs. Dzielski very obviously takes time planning each of her lessons, making them relevant to students and their daily life, making learning topics that would typically be hard, so much easier to grasp. Emily, as a sophomore remembers having social studies first period in eighth grade, and she dreaded the beginning of her school day each morning. However, the second she entered her class and was greeted by Mrs. Dzielski’s warm, welcoming smile, she always felt as though the day couldn’t possibly be too bad because “at least I get to see my favorite teacher today.” We truly believe that Mrs. Dzielski has the kindest heart and is always willing to do whatever it takes to make her students feel like they belong and just to make others smile. So when, two years later, the role opened up to become the advisor of the class of 2026, Emily was so happy that she stepped into the position. Since then she has been leading the class very well, and once again her positive and bright personality shows through while working with this new class of students.
When asked what she thinks the characteristics of a great teacher are, she said, “Patience, flexibility, making topics relevant to students, always having an open mind, and comradeship.” We can confidently say that Mrs. Dzielski effortlessly fits this description flawlessly. And she is the perfect example of the teacher every student should get to have when taking on the challenges and stressors of high school.
Thank you Mrs. Dzielski for your constant enthusiasm and school spirit and for being the ray of sunshine we need to brighten our school. We love you!!
