Journalism: An Elective Class Worth Taking

Journalism is a very fun and interesting elective to consider taking! If you enjoy writing and learning about what it takes to be a journalist, then this is the class for you. You get to write for The Blue Devil Beat every month about any topic that interests you. You also have the option of working on the website design of our digital school newspaper.  I highly recommend this class! It gives us the ability to write about pretty much whatever we want for the school newspaper, which I think is an important piece of our school community. Journalism has given me a new perspective on news, reporting, and writing in general. Note: 

This year, the Journalism Elective runs all year, every other day.  It is a half-credit course through the English Department.  The class also qualifies as an elective that promotes civil participation, so it will help achieve your  NYS Seal of Civic Readiness diploma enhancement.  See your school counselor right away to have it included in your course schedule next year!
