Jack Rott is a senior at Kenmore West. He is an outstanding student, friend, and athlete. He never fails to make his peers laugh and brings good energy wherever he goes. Jack is just the type of person you would want to be around, with his contagious laugh and his jokes that can brighten your day. He is very reliable and is always there for his friends when they need him.
In school, Jack has been playing trumpet for eight years and is a part of the Jazz Band. Outside of the school day, Jack is currently a Varsity football player and has been on the team since the 8th grade He participates in many extracurriculars along with football such as KW Baseball, Ski Club, Take A Look at Teaching Club, Student Council, Community Club, and more. He does all of these things while managing to stay on the honor roll. We asked Jack how he balances school, sports and clubs and he said, “It’s hard but you just need to get in a routine and stay consistent. You should never procrastinate.”
In order to give back to his community, Jack Rott is a part of the Community Club. They host an annual Christmas event to give back to less fortunate families by providing a fun day filled with activities, singing, and presents. The club also hosts fundraisers to help raise money for Kenmore. Jack has been a link crew leader for two years; he is a mentor to the upcoming 8th graders as they transition from middle school to high school. We asked Jack why he became a link leader and he said, ¨When I was in 8th grade my link leaders were really helpful and helped me adapt to the school comfortably.” Also in the Student Council, Jack brings the energy and comes up with ideas to help improve school spirit. At the homecoming pep rally this year, Jack was awarded with the title of Homecoming King. We asked Jack how he felt about winning and he said, “You think you're the king, I’m the king.¨
After high school Jack is planning on continuing his academic career at a local college but is undecided on what career and major he is pursuing.
In conclusion Jack is a great guy who helps his community and excels in both education and athletics. He is a great example of leadership and kindness which is why he was chosen for the Student Spotlight. Jack is the King… Jack spends a lot of time with Mr. Strach.
