If you find yourself bored and thirsty after school on Thursdays, consider attending Tea Club in room 337! September 19th was the third meeting this year. The club welcomed a diverse group of students, with kids from orchestra, band, theatre, and various sports teams. As the advisor Mrs. Fryer said, “Try the tea, and then spill the tea.” The teas are bought from Bees & Teas, a sustainably sourced tea business with teas such as Bard’s Ballad, a chocolate raspberry tea, and Suriel Tea, an herbal tea. Even if you hate tea, there is something for you! Snacks are offered like scones and mini cupcakes, and club members extremely welcoming. Club advisor Mrs. Fryer, along with many other students are happy to start up a conversation about hobbies, classes, anxieties, and more. I asked the club’s Vice President Yared Gesesse what Tea Club meant to him. He said “For me, tea isn’t just a drink, it’s a necessary ritual throughout the day…It’s more than just a beverage, tea is a moment of mindfulness, a chance to slow down and savor something you truly enjoy.” Club President, Aurhi Robinson answered, “Tea Club means I get to meet new people and learn more about tea from different places and where they were made from and to be in a positive open space for you to be yourself and be comfortable around people that you may or may not talk to in your day to day life.” Tea Club is the perfect place to come when you want to try something new and be yourself. I highly recommend coming to the next meeting on Thursday, October 10th! If you having any questions feel free to email Mrs. Fryer or stop by room 337.
