Blood donation is one of the most selfless choices an individual can make. This decision not only helps a person’s community but also helps keep the nation's blood supply stable. Blood donations are used to treat those who have suffered from blood loss from events such as surgeries or natural disasters, or those with disorders that prevent blood from being correctly made.
The Connect Life Club focuses on spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation with events planned throughout the school year, with dates for when these donations will be available to those who would like to participate.
These events are held in the Auxiliary gym on the second floor of the school, and you can sign up to donate using the QR codes found on the fliers posted around the school or on Connect Life’s Instagram page, which also provides information on the dates for upcoming blood drives. Permission slips are needed for 16-year-olds with parental consent and can be obtained from Mrs. Mahoney in Room 253 or Mrs. Schmitz in the gym. An online copy can also be found and used to create an appointment to donate.
The next blood drive is January 14th, during periods 2 through 8. We hope to see you there!
