By Gabriella Pilat
Kenmore West Theatre will be putting on Cinderella February 8th and 9th at 7:30 pm and the 10th at 3 pm. The cast, crew, and production team have been working very hard these past few months to make sure everything runs smoothly.
If you have been living under a Pumpkin, Cinderella (Gabriella Pilat) is the story of a wishful young girl forced into being a servant by her selfish stepmother (Clare Day) and stepsisters (Bells Gressley and Naomi Hollie) after her father unexpectedly dies. Despite being pushed down time and time again she refuses to give up hope. With the help of her Fairy Godmother (Abigail Holmes), her dream finally comes true and she can attend the ball–with one condition, she just must leave by midnight. During her time with the Prince (Shaw Freeman), she loses track of time and runs out just before midnight, leaving just one glass slipper. Will she ever find the prince again?
Once again, Theatre West has proven to push through during hard times. When school got canceled for three consecutive days, the cast was at school bright and early Saturday morning to perfect the waltz. During Regents Week when most kids were sleeping in, the cast and crew were at school from 9 am to 10:30 pm painting fences, perfecting 8-part harmonies, and building a carriage. This show has shown me what a true community is. Each day I am inspired by a new person. Our directorial team of fabulous and strong women shows me how to be positive when the going gets tough. Our amazing stage manager has taught me that hard work will always pay off. And my fellow cast and crew mates have shown me that seemingly impossible things are happening every day.
I hope that you join us on February 8 and 9th at 7:30 pm and the 10th at 3 pm to watch this amazing show. You can buy tickets using the link here.
