Monday: Anything But a Backpack
After School: Color run POSTPONED due to rain
Anything but a backpack is a classic spirit day that makes people creative. It’s when you're supposed to bring anything but a backpack to carry your school supplies. There were many different things people brought; someone brought a fishnet, another brought a cooking pot, one person had a traffic cone, the list goes on. People were very creative with it, but some people just brought tote bags to participate. Not many people liked this day, and not many people brought anything but a backpack, but it was still fun.
Tuesday: Generations Day
8th grade- Babies
9th grade- Toddlers
10th grade- Elementary
11th grade- Adults
12th grade- Senior citizens
Teachers- Teenagers
After School: Chicken Dinner
Generations Day is a very fun day to dress up for. I didn’t see too many adults, but I definitely saw a lot of babies/toddlers and senior citizens. The teachers had classic teenager outfits, and I even confused some with students!
Wednesday: Hawaiian Shirt/Beach Day
After School: Decorating Prep
Hawaiian Day definitely had a lot of participants. Most people had leis or Hawaiian shirts, but a few went all out, and it looked amazing. Some even wore bathing suits over their clothes! A lot of people had sunglasses or Hawaiian skirts, too. It was a nice, easy day to dress up and show off all of your beach outfits.
Thursday: Decades Day
After School: Powderpuff Game
Decade Day was a very fun day. I saw a ton of people dressed as the 1990s or 1980s. I saw a lot of tie-dye shirts, colorful belts, and low-waisted jeans. This day was kind of difficult to dress up for, since many people don’t have a ton of items from the decades, but when people did dress up, they went all out, and it looked awesome!
Friday: Blue Devil Blue and White (Pep Rally)
After School: Fall Fest
This day definitely had the most people who dressed up. People went as little as wearing their Ken West shirt to painting their faces and wearing tutus. The pep rally was full of blue and white and was very fun and energetic.
Fall fest was a cold but fun experience. There were three fire pits keeping us warm, along with hot chocolate and many other snacks. I saw some people joining volleyball circles and playing football, while some people were relaxing by the fire or listening to the concert. Overall, I think this event had a very fun fall vibe to it, even though it was chilly.
Saturday: Homecoming! Kick Off and Football Game
The kickoff was a great way to start the football game with fun games and snacks. When the actual football game started, it was chilly but really fun. The concession line was never-ending, but once you finally got some hot cocoa, it was nice. Afterwards, it was the Homecoming Dance! The dance was really exciting and a bunch of people attended. The DJ played upbeat music and you could either join the dancefloor or stay at tables and socialize. The concession line was very long but it moved fast. They were selling brownies, cookies, water, candy, and chips. I think that Homecoming this year was a very exciting experience, from dancing to just talking with friends!
