Public transportation is one of the most important means of travelling. Many people use different versions of public transport daily, like buses, trains, and the metro. It makes travelling accessible to everyone and can be a cheaper and safer alternative to driving your own vehicle. Some people don’t have access to their own vehicle and/or don’t have a driving license so taking public transport allows them to get to and from places like work and school. Driving also has many risks, like car accidents, and can be stressful and cause anxiety. Driving can also be very expensive because of car insurance, maintaining your vehicle, gas, and any other fees. That is why public transport is a safer and cheaper option for all the people who use it daily.
Public transportation can look different depending on where you live. In big cities, many people opt to take the subway instead of driving as it is a quicker, more convenient option. Big cities get very crowded and driving to your destination can become a hassle. Driving in city traffic can be very stressful, and by taking the subway you don’t have to worry about the stress and can relax after a productive day. Public transportation is less common in more rural areas but still very important. Many people take the bus to and from work every day if they don’t have a way to drive themselves. This helps many people who don’t have access to their own vehicle and makes daily commutes easier for them.
Travelling long distances can also be a problem for some people. Many people travel by train for long distances. Driving can be difficult for many for multiple different reasons, like cost, access to a car to drive, and stress revolving around driving. This makes travelling by train very important; it is a cheaper alternative compared to driving or travelling by plane. You’re able to move around the train, they have bathrooms, and by taking the train, you have more time for other things you might have to do, like any work, etc... For extremely long rides you can get a sleeper car, which is your own private room that you can sleep and relax in. The downside of train travel is that delays can be common, and you may arrive or depart later than anticipated. Train travel times can also be a little longer than if you were to drive, but it’s worth the extra time for many.
