Hey there everybody! You all voted for some of your favorite holiday and Christmas songs and the results are in and have been calculated. Let’s get to the Top 10 Holiday Songs!
(Side Note: The numbers within the parentheses are the amount of votes that each of the songs got)
#10 - The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You) - Nat King Cole (3)
“The Christmas Song'' was originally sung and performed by Nat King Cole. It was first released in 1945 and has had a lot of different covers in the years. This rendition of the song was one of Ken West’s favorites.
#9 - Carol of the Bells - Lindsey Stirling (3)
This song was based on a Ukrainian song called “Shchedryk'' which was written by Mykola Leontovych in 1914. In 1936, Peter Wilhousky added lyrics to that song to create the “Carol of the Bells” that we all know and love today.
#8 - Christmas Tree Farm - Taylor Swift (4)
Taylor Swift wrote, recorded, and published this song during her “Lover” Era. This song has charted in multiple countries such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, Hungary, Ireland, and the United States. Don’t be surprised if in a few years (or even this year) you see this becoming another holiday chart-topper.
#7 - Snowman - Sia (6)
This song by Sia you have probably heard or seen on your TikTok feed at least once. Sia released this song in 2017 and then released a music video in 2020 which helped it gain more popularity. This song has been branded as a modern holiday hit by many sources and it seems that Ken West thinks the same.
#6 - Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano (6)
This Christmas song really is a classic. It was first recorded in 1970 by Jose Feliciano who is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter. When he was asked about writing the song he said that he wrote it while he was feeling homesick for Christmas.

#5 - White Christmas - Bing Crosby (6)
The writer of this song, Irving Berlin, wrote this song to reminisce about an old-fashioned Christmas. The song was originally written for a movie called “Holiday Inn” and then soon became a Christmas classic.
#4 - Hallelujah - Pentatonix (7)
This song was originally written and sung by Leonard Cohen. Cohen is a Canadian singer and he released the song in 1984. In 1991 Jack Cale re-recorded the song making its popularity boost. Jack Cale’s version of the song was even featured in the 2001 movie “Shrek.” The acapella group Pentatonix released their rendition in 2016 and as of December 12th, it has 725,625,021 total views on YouTube.
#3 - Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms (13)
This song is considered Bobby Helms's signature song. Jingle Bell Rock has been a holiday classic for many years and probably many years to come. It was first released in 1957 and gained popularity very quickly.
#2 - Last Christmas - Wham! (16)
Last Christmas is one of the bigger classics. At the time that I am writing this Last Christmas is at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was released on December 3, 1984. When this song was originally written it stayed at #2 on the UK Singles Chart (the UK’s Billboard Hot 100) for five consecutive weeks. It finally was able to hit #1 on the chart in 2021 which was 34 long years after its initial release.
