Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born on February 20, 2003. Little did anyone know that she would go on to become one of the most famous American singers in the 21st century. So the question is: how did she become so famous?
Rodrigo first appeared on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, where she made her debut but gained little fame for it. A few years later, she starred in the show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series where she was more recognized for her amazing singing voice. She also released one of her first songs during the show, “All I Want.”
Another widely popular song released in 2021, “Drivers License” was one of the top-streamed songs in the world, gaining over 580 million streams. Shortly after, Olivia released her debut album Sour which included more songs like “Traitor,” “Good 4 U,” and “Happier.” This album turned out to be very popular and gave her career a kickstart to get to where she is today.
One of the reasons for the popularity of Olivia’s songs is her show-stopping lyrics. Her songs often have a deep meaning to them, covering topics many people can relate to such as love, sadness, relationship issues, and more.
Rodrigo’s most recent album, “Guts,” came out in September 2023 and was a huge hit. The Guts World Tour began in late February this year and will continue until October. So far, 91 shows have been performed with over 22,000 people attending.
Olivia Rodrigo is an incredibly successful individual whose fame will continue to grow due to her resonating lyrics and impactful songs.
