It’s that time of year again! Nowadays, it’s hard to keep track of what is trending for the holiday season, but the students here at Kenmore West received a survey in their email asking about the top items and brands on their holiday wish lists this year. The first chunk of results below shows what you all said were your top choices for brands this holiday season.
Top Ten Brands:
Nike
Lululemon
Apple
Ugg
American Eagle
Stanley
Bath and Body Works
Aerie
Adidas
Amazon
Now as the data collection from that question wasn't too surprising, the results from the 76 students who submitted their input were more scattered, although Nike did come in at the number one spot by a landslide with a whopping 34 people picking it as one of their most wanted brands. While it is always nice to get someone an item they’ll enjoy, sometimes it may prove difficult to know what a person will want as a gift, or sometimes even the gift they want is out-of-budget. 78% of those who submitted a survey said that they love, sometimes even prefer receiving gift cards during the holidays. When asked about it, places like Target, Amazon, and Starbucks surpassed anywhere else for a spot in the top three. People also mentioned ones such as Barnes & Noble, Tim Hortons, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Visa, Sephora, Best Buy, and Nike.
For those interested in specific items rather than brands or companies to shop, I’ve got you covered! In addition, students were also asked about the items on the very top of their wish lists this year, and you can see the results from the survey listed below.
Top Ten Items:
Clothes
Sneakers
Electronics
Uggs
Makeup
Phones
Event tickets
Gift cards
Jewelry
10. Books
Matching along with the top brands of this year, clothes and sneakers were the two highest-mentioned items in the responses. Things like Air Jordans, Converse, Lululemon leggings, and Paloma sweaters were frequent repeaters in students’ answers. After clothes, electronics like new headphones, Apple watches, Airpods, computers, and iPads were popular choices. Many mentioned jewelry and makeup from companies such as Kendra Scott and Charlotte Tilbury, and I found that event tickets (concerts, Drake, and hockey games to name a few) were also common asks.
I hope that with some holidays ending and some just beginning, this list can provide some insight and spark ideas as to what you may get for those in your life this season! Enjoy the winter break, and I hope that whatever you have on your lists this year you may receive!
