Fall season has started and dressing chic while staying warm can be tough! This article recommends clothing items and accessories to buy to complete your seasonal wardrobe, including pictures and descriptions of how to style said items. I hope this is helpful!
1. Jean Skirts
I think this is a great basic for back to school that can be paired with many things! Wearing it with an oversized sweater or hoodie is the comfortable option, and wearing this with an off-shoulder long sleeve or cropped short sleeve would elevate it. If it’s cold outside, wearing tights with a skirt is perfect for staying warm.
Getting a plain jean color like the one pictured will match with any color. But getting a patterned one can be cute too, such as a cheetah print one or one with stars or hearts on the pockets. Pacsun and Hollister are great places to get good quality jean skirts!
2. Cardigans
There are different types of cardigans. Chunky and button-up are the most popular though. Button-up cardigans look good with simple color tops underneath and a jean skirt or jeans. Chunky cardigans look great with flare leggings and boots such as Uggs. They're such a good accessory to throw on last-minute over a fit to add to it!
3. Adidas Campus 00 Sneakers
This is such a basic shoe that will match with anything! It is very popular at the moment because of its simple look. There are a variety of colors to choose from! They are normally around $110 on the official Adidas website, but you can find them on resell websites for cheaper. I would recommend replacing the thin shoelaces with thicker shoelaces as it fits the style of the shoe better, giving that “chunky” look.
4. Bag Charms
You can use charms for your backpack, purse, or to add to your keys! Good places to find unique charms are Coach, Kate Spade, and Target. They add to your bag and overall elevate it. They add a sense of personality to your accessories.
5. Phone Cases
Matching your phone case with the season is very chic and can get you in the mood of a new month! These cases are from the website Burga, and they typically cost $40-$50. That may seem like a lot of money to spend on a case, but they are of good quality and very durable. Also, other brands like Kate Spade are pricing their cases at about $70. So in comparison, the price is not too bad. Polka dots are trending right now, and plaid is the perfect fall pattern!
6. Patterned Socks
Socks with frills at the top, or with patterns like hearts, are a must-have. These are from Brandy Mellville and are priced at only $6! When wearing sneakers or shoes that show the ankle, wearing cute socks instead of plain white or black ones gives your outfit a little pop of color and whimsy.
7. Wallets
Wallets don’t have to be the typical expensive brown or black leather look we’re used to. Wallets can be fashionable and chic. Men and women should be able to have a wallet as an accessory and as a usable everyday item that will last.
8. Watches
Watches don’t just have to be classic leather watches. There are watches called “bracelet watches” which are watches that are used more as a fashion accessory than to tell time. I think vintage watches are also really chic. You can wear them by themselves or with other bracelets, if you want a fuller wrist full of jewelry. Watches typically come in different colors of leather, or gold and silver.
9. Jerseys
Jerseys don’t have to be merch you wear from your favorite sports team. They can be something that has numbers that represent a jersey. They are usually oversized and off-the-shoulder. The best way to wear it is to layer it with another top and a skirt or jeans. Putting a tighter plain color top underneath that compliments the colors in the jersey will tie the whole thing together. Wearing a jersey for fashion instead of sports is usually considered “street wear.”
10. Water Bottles
Owalas are the trending water bottle to have right now! They come in a variety of colors and sizes. Not only do they have bright colors and pastel colors, but like the one pictured, they have ombre ones. They have also made patterned ones with bows or flowers on them. They usually cost $30-$40! Owala also sells tumblers and coffee mugs, but their water bottles are definitely the most popular. People like their products because they’re easy to use and durable. Staying hydrated throughout the day at school is important, so having a nice everyday water bottle is a must.
