Have you ever expected to wake up one morning and find out you're a billionaire? Probably not, and neither did the main character of this book, Avery Grambs. Her entire life changed in one day from living in her car to the biggest mansion she's ever seen. She appears to be a typical teenage girl, except for her secrets and curiosity getting in the way. A man named Tobias Hawthorne dies and has left almost everything to her. Why? She doesn't have a clue. Who is he to her? No one, or so we think. So why would a random dead guy write a teen girl in his will? That's what we'll figure out through the course of this 372-page book!
Unfortunately for Avery, Tobias has a family he left behind. This includes his four Hawthorne grandsons, who are around Avery's age. One named Grayson is out to get her, one named Jameson wants to help, and the other two are just there along for the ride.
Not only does she inherit the money, she has to live in the Hawthorne mansion too, but the catch is that the boys still live there. She has to pick up the very few things she had in her old life, move schools, and bring her older sister along with her. Her sister is her legal guardian and helps her through the chaos of new-found fame and the threats that come along with it.
You may have seen this book on TikTok before, as it was trending, and wondered if it was worth it to purchase. It's one of my favorite books now, so I would say yes. From the beginning of this book to the very end, I didn't want to put it down as I was reading!! From romance to riddles, wealth, sisters, passages, and most important of all, games, there was a surprise and mystery to be solved on each page I turned. I also think that because the author has included Avery’s personal situations and thoughts, teens may be able to relate to her better.
The question is, can Avery Grambs survive the twisted house, an attempted murder, and the dangerous, reckless, brothers for a chance at a future she couldn't have ever imagined? Read this book of three to find out!! You can find this trilogy at Barnes & Noble or Amazon. Happy reading!!
