Five go in, only four come out. Bronwyn the brain. Nate the criminal. Cooper the athlete. Addie the beauty. Simon dead. There are four suspects, and one of them is lying. You’ll have to read to find out who did it. This is a complex murder mystery thriller, filled with teenage drama as four students are suspected of killing Simon for a seemingly normal allergic reaction that was deadly.
All of them have something to lose. Simon had an app called “About That” where he would expose people's darkest secrets, and he just so happened to have a dark secret about all four students that he was going to post the next day. But he died before he got the chance. The suspects? Bronwyn, on track to be valedictorian, is a perfectionist with a bright future. Nate, a drug dealer on probation. Cooper, a star baseball player, with scholarships lining up for him. Addie, a popular girl with a high social status. All of them have a secret. All of them have something to lose. Who did it?
I would rate this book an 8.5/10! This book is a complex murder mystery and a teen drama. It’s similar to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. This book is one of my favorites because it left me wanting to read more and has a ton of suspense between the characters. I think that the author did a good job developing the characters and the plot. It had a very unexpected plot twist at the end that I never thought would happen. Overall, this book was very well written, with multiple twists and turns, and had an amazing pace to it. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get into reading or who likes murder mysteries!

There is also a TV show series based on this book that is streaming on Peacock and Amazon for subscription and on YouTube, Apple TV, and Fandango for a cost. Although I’ve read the book, I haven’t yet seen the show, so I can’t give my personal opinion or rating on it. However, there are two seasons, and there was going to be a third one, but it got canceled in 2023. The first season was released in October of 2021, and the second season was released in October of 2022, a year later. Each season has eight episodes, and the genre is teen drama, mystery, and thriller. It was developed by Erica Saleh and has generally positive reviews.
