Lessons in Chemistry is a fantastic book, written by Bonnie Garmus and also has its own series on Apple TV! If you're into feminism, humor, and romance I recommend it to you. Lessons in Chemistry covers the story of Elizabeth Zott, a chemist in the 1950s. She wants to pursue chemistry but faces gender inequalities so she creates a cooking show and displays science through cooking! Many don’t appreciate Zott for her strong opinions and the way she goes about things because men during the 50s discriminated against women. I aspire to be like Zott because she wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone. Zott continues to persevere through all of the discrimination and hardships to empower other women to take a stand for feminism. Bonnie Garmus did such a great job keeping this book entertaining with the humorous dialogue and scenes. Always remember, as Garmus says, “When you feel afraid, just remember courage is the root of change and change is what we were chemically designed to do.”
