If you read my monthly advice article, you’re probably used to my academic advice. This month I want to focus on my advice for fun. This end of the school year can be eventful and exciting if you let it.
The class of 2024 Senior Prom is Friday, June 7th at AcQua banquet hall. Prom is known for many things: beautiful gowns, tuxes, flowers, dinner, dancing, and for some, drinking. Our school has never shied away from the topic of drinking for our own safety. While I’m sure the adults of our school would prefer that teenagers not drink at all, they put a crashed car on the front lawn of our school to remind us of the dangers of drunk driving. If you decide to drink on prom night, don’t get behind the wheel! Don’t make unsafe decisions; if you have opted out of the party bus/ limousine tradition, make sure you take care of yourself.
Go to West Fest! The pep rally, followed by outdoor games and activities will be sure to end your school year off right. Last year's West Fest included slip-and-slide kickball, a bounce house obstacle course, a petting zoo, crafts, a dunk tank, bubble soccer, and more. I’m excited to see what this year’s West Fest has in store!
When you’re not studying for final exams, take some time to go outside! Go to a park with friends, take a trip to a beach, or go to your favorite ice cream shop. While the school year isn’t over quite yet, fun in the sun has already begun!
