Giftedness

I have never liked the "gifted" label. I think that it makes people labeled as "gifted" too prone to feeling better than everyone, and makes people not labeled as "gifted" feel bad about themselves.

However, it is also important for everyone to learn about giftedness, because "gifted" kids often have a lot of traits that people misunderstand or think of as just a quirk or someone being awkward. I think that this unit was very helpful for me because it helped me understand how other people see "gifted" kids and how being the parent, teacher, or friend of a "gifted" kid isn't always the easiest.
