This was our first attempt to deliver online face-to-face mathematics tutoring via ZOOM. The student (bottom of screen) is from a underprivileged Liangshan Family, and with his own efforts he got into UWC Hangzhou. Hans was the tutor, and Angus attained the role of teaching assistant (ie. he dropped notes of student performance per lesson and assisted Hans with explaining math concepts when needed to). The student was mainly taught probability as requested.
Right at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year, our organization launched an English Tutoring subdivision. The above picture showcases one of the many English tutoring sessions we held during July 2021 - the content of tutoring was customized for every student, and for the above student, Cherry (the tutor) taught her vocabularies and phrases related to Human Rights as according to the student's own interests.
This snapshot depicts one of Henrik's Math tutoring lessons with a local Liangshan student, while the student did not want to open his camera. During class, not only will Henrik prepare abundant class materials (incl. math problems & solutions, diagrams) for the student, he will also answer questions from the student inside and outside class. The above picture was a math problem the student can't solve and sent to Henrik through WeChat (snapshot on right), and Henrik then spent a few minutes to solve and answer that with detailed explanation for the student.
The snapshot on the left showcases one of Hans' Math tutoring lessons with a Liangshan local. During class, Hans shared with the student class materials he prepared earlier on, while also answering questions from the student inside and outside class. The snapshot on the right showcases a fragment of the conversation between Emily and her student, with Emily spending time making a video to assist her student on her mathematical understanding of a certain subtopic.
