DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN WATCH THE UPDATED EFFECTS. IF YOU WISH TO DO SO, YOU SHOULD VIEW ONE OF THE FANEDITS THAT WILL HAVE THE RESPECTIVE SEQUENCE FEATURED
So, part of the things my Fanedits do is improve or update certain special effects. Sometimes that may be easy, like removing a shot with terrible green screen, or replacing it with a reaction shot. Other times I may use already pre made new special effects like cunningmonki's YouTube. But in special occasions, I decide to update the effects myself, usually by using pre-made glowing effects for regenerations and altering the title sequence in a significant way.
TITLE SEQUENCES
FIRST DOCTOR
The main feature of this new sequence, was the addition of the First Doctor's face. I found I pretty good PNG image and started working. I wanted the face to line up with the oo-wee-OO in the music, like they do most of the time. In the original, it is the Doctor Who logo that lines up with the noise, so I slowed down the visuals before the logo, ran it so the noise happened before the logo (Thus cutting off the last second of the titles), and added the face in, monochromed and with a dissolving effect. Probably one of the more ambitious sequences, but the one that worked out the best.
SECOND/THIRD DOCTOR
These sequences are almost perfect. I mean what would I change? They were left unaltered.
FOURTH DOCTOR
This is the most different title sequence that I put together. I wanted to give all episodes a consistent title sequence, but I was having trouble deciding which. The first was iconic, but the second is more fitting to the later Davison titles. So I decided to combine the two! I used the music from the first one, and the face/logo from the second one. Combined the visuals, to produce an effect that looked like a vortex in space. It turned out well, and will be used on all future edits. However, I made it after I did Logopolis, so that edit has a slightly edited vortex sequence instead.
FIFTH DOCTOR
This is regarded as one of the best title sequences, and I have to agree, but there is one problem with it, which is the weird way 5's face appears, in an odd opening-blinds-like effect. So I made one simple cut and replaced the transition with a simple fade in.
SIXTH AND SEVENTH DOCTOR
No changes here, but I'm not using the garbage music of the Trial version, don't worry, I'm keeping the Season 22 one for Season 23. I'm also using a updated CGI version of Seven's sequence, rather than the original, because I might as well.
