The bootcamp organising team and I had an opportunity to organise a CCA Bootcamp for the C1 members during the first 3 days of March Holidays. The objective of the camp was to impart the basic photography, videography and PA/AVA skills to the members, whilst providing an avenue for them to bond with their batchmates so that their interest in the CCA would be sustained. Although it was tiring, I thoroughly enjoyed working together with the OT for the last time and I am also grateful for having the chance to get to know the members better.

Out of the 3 days, I felt that many members enjoyed day 2 the most due to the outdoor filming session. This out-of-school activity piqued the interest of many and provided a good bonding opportunity amongst the group members and their facilitators. While bootcamp was a general success, there were still hiccups along the way, one of which I still remember was the lunch order mess up. Highschool NPCC and our CCA ordered from the same catering hotline and due to a phone number mix-up, another facilitator and I ended up going to the clock tower only to find out that the caterer had made a mistake. That scared us as the early arrival of lunch would mean an alteration to our schedule for the later part of the day, hence that was one of the bigger challenges we faced during this bootcamp.
One of bootcamp's biggest success is providing the members with a chance to get to know the CCA better so as not to lose interest in it during the one week break, while starting on some content on the various segments of media that our CCA specilises in. From this Bootcamp, I learnt that leaving buffer time between activities is very important to avoid over-running as this was a persistent problem from our previous Bootcamp in 2020 too. I hope that the juniors taking over Bootcamp OT will bring it to greater heights!
As for the new batch of exco who will be working together with the Bootcamp OT, I hope that there will be more ExCo members involved in bootcamp too as we did face an issue of the shortage of manpower at times. A more general thing I would like the next batch of ExCo to know is: don't stress too much, just look around you and you'll see 9 other amazing people who are there to support you and us seniors who will be there to guide you too! So if you have any questions, feel free to contact us! We have faith in you so you should too. All the best for your term!
