Chinese New Year

🎋 We started the celebration off with an exhilarating piece《金蛇狂舞》(The Golden Snake Dance), composed by Nie Er, arranged by Peng Xiuwen, and rearranged by our conductor, Wei Yanming.🐍 Its high-spirited music, accompanied by the sonorous rhythms of the gongs and drums, renders the jubilant atmosphere of Chinese New Year. 

It vividly paints the joyful scenes of dragon dances with firecrackers, and neighbours going around to send off well wishes for the new year.  

In the new arrangement, Mr Wei added a romantic waltz💃🏻 in beats of three, with the piece ending on a lively presto. 

《金蛇狂舞》，由聂耳作曲，彭修文编曲，魏砚铭新编。乐曲旋律昂扬，热情洋溢，锣鼓铿锵有力，渲染了新年佳节的欢腾气氛，生动地再现了民间喜庆时巨龙舞动、锣鼓喧天的欢乐场面，洋溢出鲜明的民族性格特色和生活气息。魏老师新编的《金蛇狂舞》在中段加了三拍子的浪漫圆舞曲，尾声加了热烈的急板，使乐曲更加热情精彩！
