How Covid-19 has impacted our communities

In the past few months COVID-19 has impacted my community by not being able to do activities like going to school or being able to go out to restaurants, theme parks, shopping and not being able to see friends or family . The most difficult thing that my community and I have had to face is not having many resources and having to work a lot or even not having a job to pay the rent. Although many challenges have resulted from COVID-19, one thing I am grateful for is my family, my family’s health and being all together. However, now that I have become more aware about COVID-19 I will share the importance of COVID-19 on how we can be safe and what we can do to prevent more cases, by doing this I will surely create awareness among my family, friends, and community so they are prepared to fight against COVID-19. - Keylee Morales

In the past few months Covid-19 has impacted my community by not allowing us to do day-to-day activities such as going to school, work, the mall or even a restaurant. The most difficult thing that my community and I have had to face is not having the appropriate or amount of resources we would need in order to stay safe and COVID free. Although many challenges have resulted from Covid-19, one thing I am grateful for is my family, strength and sanity. I am grateful for these things because over the last few weeks Iv’e experienced many different things like losing my uncle, to crying or feeling depressed because I felt like I was suffocating due to being in the house for over three months or because I wanted physical contact with friends. Now that I have become more aware about Covid-19 I will wash my hands more often, and wear a mask when I’m outside my house. By doing this I will surely create awareness among my family, friends, and community so they are prepared to fight against Covid-19. - Jazmine Conorquie

Covid-19 has impacted my community in many ways. From having to work from home, while some might not have internet connection. Ever since schools were closed due to Covid-19 some schools have set up a certain time to pick up school lunches for families in need. For some might not be able to have access to certain resources when in need of help during this time. To people missing with hanging out with others/ friends missing the social connection. for me I haven't really hang out with anyone, staying in the house doesn't bother me as much or at all, but for others it can affect them the most. Communities starting to wear masks more, but over time some people don't wear there mask. Remember to always wash your hands and wear a mask to keep your family, others, and yourself safe. -Carmenli O.M

Covid-19 has impacted my community in many ways. Many people in the community have lost their jobs due to the virus. Others are working extra hours to be able to afford food and a roof over their head. Schools have been closed and many student are doing there work from home. For me I had a hard time learning from home since I have other sibling that are also social distance learning. Before social distancing was placed I never went out because I enjoy staying home. I don't mind staying home, it doesn´t bother me. In my community people are not allowed in stores if they do not have a mask on. I will remind people to keep their mask on in public. - Alejandra Mancia Aguilar
