Ms. Upshaw is a new mom to her sweet baby girl, Izzy. Ms. Upshaw grew up in Channelview, TX, where she danced at local studios beginning at age 5. Many hours were spent at her sister's dance studio taking classes and helping out in any way she could. Ms. Upshaw attended Channelview High School where she held an officer position for 3 years. After high school, she attended Texas State University where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies and was a member of the Texas State Strutters Drill Team. Ms. Upshaw graduated with an Applied Digital Learning Master's Degree from Lamar University in 2022.
Ms. Upshaw began her teaching career in 2012 and has mostly taught Middle School Science and High School Dance. She has been the assistant director for both Channelview High School and North Shore Senior High and established the Highlands Jr. Golden Eagles Dance Team. Ms. Upshaw is currently in her second year of being Director of the GCM Dazzlers and JV Charms. She is excited about seeing the organization grow and is so proud of all their accomplishments. In her free time, Ms. Upshaw can be found spending time with her baby girl, cuddling her puppy, Daisy, or re-watching her favorite shows, like One Tree Hill.
Miss Burch was born and raised in the Chicagoland area where she began dancing at local studios at the age of 3. She attended Larkin High School where she was in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy and on the dance team. To continue her dance education, Miss Burch earned her BA in Dance from Western Michigan University, and shortly after, she moved to Texas to begin teaching.
Miss Burch spent two years as the director of Beaumont United High School's magnet dance program. She then moved to Baytown and taught dance at Highlands Junior and E. F. Green for two years before transitioning into her role at GCM. This is currently her third year as Assistant Director of the Dazzlers and JV Charms. When Miss Burch is not dancing, she is probably going for walks, rhinestoning the nearest item of clothing, or spending time with her rescue cats.
