Viehscheid, also known as "Almabtrieb", is an annual autumn tradition in Allgäu region where farmers lead their herds down from the high mountain pastures (Alpen) into the valleys.
It takes place every year between early September and early October. This year between Sep 11-19.
Locals wear traditional clothing (Trachten), and the procession is followed by massive public parties featuring local brass music, beer tents, and regional food. During these weeks, tens of thousands of visitors gather across different Bavarian villages to watch the decorated cattle return
