Know what platform your child is using (Google Classroom/
Schoology) and maintain regular contact with classroom teacher.
Help your child with organization and time management.
Ask your child what they are learning and why?
Encourage your child to check work before submitting assignments.
Ask questions about what is happening in their environment.
Look for patterns in weather, solar system and natural events. Have students come up with predictions based on past patterns and how it relates to Science.
Cook at home and discuss the scientific processes (chemical/physical).
Ensure your child is actively taking notes during live sessions and watching instructional videos.
Read math problems together with your child. As you read, ask questions about the problem. (What do you notice? What is the problem asking you to do? Can you create a picture to represent the problem?
Be a positive role model for reading and writing.
Make sure you have (or have access to) lots of reading materials at home for your children.
Discuss reading challenges with your child’s teacher immediately.
Ask questions to engage your child in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
