Microsoft core online applications (Office 365 online) and Microsoft Teams will be implemented in a layered and phased approach. IT and select divisions at the HQ level will make up the initial early adopter phase during the summer of 2020. The early adopter phase will be followed by the headquarters, region and district staff. Additional phases will bring more capabilities and users into the Microsoft 365 environment.
Skype and Microsoft Teams Comparison
Microsoft Teams will replace Skype for Business (i.e. Lync). Teams includes access to the Office online collaboration products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.
Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration in Microsoft 365 that integrates the people, content, and tools you need.

With Office 365, you can access a simplified version of the traditional desktop productivity and workplace applications that you know as well as some that you may find helpful in your daily work. Core apps are listed below. However, once you are implemented you can find these and more on the Microsoft Office Portal.
Limitations and Constraints: Full email (Outlook), calendar and file access will be available in a later phase. The initial phase of implementation does not include Outlook (mail nor calendar) nor syncing or moving of your existing local files within OneDrive. Microsoft 365 also has no connection. Microsoft 365 also does not impact Google access nor availability. DoDEA will have both Microsoft 365 and Google in our environment.
