As we wrap up the first week of the new school year, we wanted to take a moment to share some exciting highlights and celebrate our students’ achievements.
1. Welcoming Atmosphere: Our classrooms have been buzzing with positive energy! The students have settled in beautifully, and their enthusiasm is contagious. It’s heartwarming to witness their eagerness to learn and connect with one another.
2. Engaging Activities: From interactive icebreakers to team-building exercises, we’ve made sure that every day is filled with fun and meaningful experiences. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where each child feels valued and motivated.
3. Friendships Blooming: Friendships are blossoming in our classrooms. Encourage your child to share stories about their new friends—they’ve been bonding over shared interests, laughter, and collaborative activities.
4. Upcoming Events: Mark your calendars! We have exciting events lined up, including no school on Labor Day (September 1st), open house (September 2nd 4pm-6pm) and parent-teacher conferences in the fall. Your involvement is crucial, and we look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress.
5. Homework and Resources: To support your child’s learning journey, you will find a list of helpful resources on our first-grade website. Feel free to explore these materials together and reinforce the concepts covered in class.
Student are coming home with an optional homework activity. Their "About Me" bags will be presented to class over the next week, then they will return home in their backpacks.
6. Reminders:
-Please send back the Student Information sheet as well as the last page attached to the Parent Packet (media consent). We have also sent home a volunteer interest form! Please return!Â
-Please do not forget to send your child one nutritious snack and a water bottle. Please do not send juice.
-Shoes: To ensure safety please make sure that your child is wearing comfortable close toe, closed heel shoes even on the days where there is no P.E. as students still participate in recess.
-The neighborhood is quite chilly; students are more than welcome to bring a light jacket. Please label jackets.
-This week, our weekly update will be via this email. In the coming week, you will need to refer to the first-grade website. We will send a reminder.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Let’s continue to celebrate their growth, curiosity, and resilience throughout the school year. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
