“Not only has implementing Science Notebooks in my classroom revved up the students desire to investigate and inquire during Science time, but I have seen a huge shift in their literacy development as well. The students have gone from basic sentences to more complex writing including content vocabulary and vivid descriptive words. The students have taken what we have started to implement in our notebooks and applied it to their speaking and listening skills. Walking around listening to the students engaging conversations using content knowledge, disputing claims with evidence, and referencing vocabulary has been the greatest take away from science notebooks.”
