THE sullivans legacy

"We Stick Together"

On January 3, 1942, five brothers from the Sullivans family enlisted in the U.S. Navy with the agreement that they would serve together on the same ship. Two of the brothers, George and Frank, had served in the Navy before, but the other three brothers had not. All five brothers were assigned to the USS Juneau. While serving together, the USS Juneau was attacked and all five brothers perished at sea. The USS Sullivans is named in their honor.

Our school, The Sullivans, is also named after the five Sullivans brothers. Sullivans Elementary School is located in Yokosuka, Japan, onboard CFAY Yokosuka. At The Sullivans our motto is, "We Sticker Together," which serves as a reminder of their great legacy.
