St. Cristóbal is represented as a stout giant who carries Christ in his arms and has the mission of protecting travelers. This is why, according to Vicuña McKenna, "the Spaniards often called some of their mountains with the name of San Cristóbal. Our hill served as a guide for travelers arriving in Santiago, and the San Cristóbal hill began to be known by its name long after the Santa Lucia and Monserrat hills (now Cerro Blanco) received their names." When the Spaniards arrived, the natives called San Cristóbal Hill Tupahue, a Quechua word that means centinela this means "Soldier who keeps watch while guarding the post he is in charge of."
Well I know! It is in the district of Providencia and Recoleta. San Cristóbal Hill is a beautiful place also is a part of a mountain range that makes up the Metropolitan and have more than 700 hectares, this makes Parque Metropolitano the largest urban park in Chile and one of the largest of the world.
