My ocean guardian school project included 4 major things over the year. The 1st major thing that we did was going down to our creek (chimacum creek) and putting fish traps with bread as bait then leave the traps for 24 hours to see what types of fish are in our creek. The 2nd project was make a minecraft world and think of a way to stop water or air pollution and than build the solution. The 3d project was going to a different part of the creek and taking data for flow rate with our waders in our creek. We took data for 30 seconds in each spot. We took this data to try and figure out how well our creek is. But after the project we found out that our creek is doing vary well. Last but not least 4th which we went to a area called the youth summit in Belfair WA. At the youth summit we shared what i am sharing to you but with a poster. I realize that this hard to create images in your head for all of these projects so below I will share some photos.
Also my CER conclusion (claim evidence reasoning) for how our creek is doing is right here...
(Claim):chimacum creek in all standards is doing very good.
(Evidence):Flow rate is hard to say if the creek is doing well but we can take a algorithm which is the width by the depth and see how many gallons should and how many are flowing. And all the other parameters we use say that the creek is well this is the data D.O. is 9.6 mg/L, average pH is 6.2, Water Temp 51.3° F, turbidity average of 33.7 NTU's, stream flow average of 210 gal/s, conductivity is 117.9 𝝁s/cm. We can also take the types of fish and macros to assume the creek is really well.
(Reasoning):When I look at the data form the other parameters I can see that they are all doing vary good so my claim works.
This is the minecraft world for the pollution sullition.
This is us fish trapping at our creek.
This is us taking data for flow rate in chimacum creek.
This is my poster from the youth summit.
These are the sharing circles at the youth summit that we shared the posters at.
