science and robotics

Introduction

So we did a robotics challenge Mr.Gonzales assigned for me and the class we had to make sketchnotes meanings for the items on the robot like, why put a drill on a robot when you have a scooper? And once me an liam were done we put things together that resembles the sketch, and it sadly ended up not working. :(

So we did a challenge called the Lunar rover challenge and once we finished the robot we called it

B I G S C O O P it can't move because it such a big scoop!

And once we coded the robot it could not work!

The scooper had touched the tire and and gave the tire less traction.

:(

thanks to Mr.Gonzales for the 3D printed B I G S C O O P.

Mr.Gonzales os a cool guy! :)

page one of "sketchnotes" / how it's going to be made

page one was about the placements of the sensor and a lot of other things and the scooper was too big so the sensor had to go, another thing the shaded out area on the back is the bucket I forgot to add.

page two of sketchnotes

the sketchnotes were crude and not as visible

page one sketch notes were about how the machine would move and how it would get the resources back to base. (it was hard to brainstorm all of this not gonna lie)

so I a lunar rover project to "collect lunar regolith"

I had to do research and sketch note I had one that, I couldn't use because the ev3 did not have those parts/things.

we had to make the robot to scoop sand and spoiler it did not go well!

the next thing we had to do was testing and we used the move forward code and it just spun!

overall the robot did not work :(

as you saw in the video the robot just spins because the scoop interferes with the tire and makes the tire not gain traction.

back to the scientific talk, lunar regolith is another way to say lunar soil, the lunar soil has a rocky texture my sources /documents from NASA

these are the sources I got the sketch notes for

number one What Is Lunar Regolith?

number two Learn About The Rover

number three Lunar Surface Geology

all from the wakelet Mr.Gonzales gave the class for the lunar rover challenge!
