We 6th and 5th graders at Chimacum elementary school tested 6 Different things in our creek one of them being dissolved oxygen(the one I worked on)
My claim is that Chimacum creek is doing good
My evidence is when we tested the 6 parameters we found that nothing was out of the range it was supposed to be in and some things it even excelled in like dissolved oxygen, and turbidity.
I think this happened because our whole community makes sure to take care of our creek and we all make a point not to litter or get any sort of chemicals into our creek. Our creek s pretty much undisturbed and we haven't modified it in any way to change its shape.
My data to support my claim is that the range dissolved oxygen should be in is anywhere from 4-15 mg/l and in our creek, our average was 9.68. For pH, it could be anywhere from 6-9 and our creek is at an average of 6.2. The stream flow of our creek is 210 gal/s, The range it should be in is anywhere from
In this photo we were at finn river farms and we got to plant trees and learn about how trees help our environment and how farm animals have to be kept away from water so their fertilizer doesn't get in it.
this was at the beginning of the year when we did Fish Trapping. We did fish trapping every tuesday and wednesday.
