The challenge we wanted to do was based on lunar regolith. Me and Grace (my partner!) tried to do a different project before that looked like a tank But unfortunately after many notes and a lot of time we found out that would not work at all. So we had to move onto lunar soil rover! Which actually worked out.
"were can you find Moon dust?" well moon dust can be found on the surface of the moon. "what is moon dust made out of?" Moon dust is made out of Minerals that have been pounded by Meteorites. "how does it turn into a dust?" when it hits the Moon it turns into Moon dust! new fact! when Astronauts landed on the moon for the first time they found out that the moon dust landed on there space suits and even worse it went into there eyes which made them go red! and even more worse it went into there lungs which can cause cancer! "why is it so bad for it to go on there space suits?" will when it does it can way them down! they are planning to send somebody back to the moon but they don't want anything bad to happen so they are planning to send somebody there then mine minerals, water, and even oxygen out of the lunar soil!
We weren't able to program our robot but our plan was that our robot was supposed to go to the moon and then pick up moon dust (sand) then transport the moon dust onto a different spot on the moon to do construction on the moon! our robot was designed to transport moon dust (sand) approximately 100 meters (328 feet) which is ALOT! the robot below is what we worked on for about 2 weeks but it took another week because are first plan backfired, And we weren't able to use it so at the end we weren't able to program our robot. but we were still able to build an amazing robot!
this is our robot fuzzy! Also if you want to learn more then go to https://www.universetoday.com/20360/lunar-regolith/
