In order to be considered for approval as an “Approved Rescue Group” by the Cleveland County Animal Control, groups must submit the Cleveland County Animal Control's Rescue Application, along with 3 letters of reference, one of which must be submitted by a Licensed Veterinarian. Cleveland County Animal Control will notify the group once approved or denied, and approval will be granted at the discretion of Cleveland County Animal Control

Internship Volunteer eligibility
All youth volunteers must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian and must be actively supervised by an adult/parent to participate. Please follow the student-to-adult ratio below when registering to volunteer:
Grade 10-12: 5 students to 1 adult
Grade 7-9: 4 students to 1 adult
Grade 3-6: 3 students to 1 adult All volunteers, with the exception of those participating in a special event or one-time group

Hospice Cleveland County

Heart to heart volunteers provide friendly visits to patients at Wendover and Testa Family Hospice House. They also provide social/emotional support, read to patients, write notes, play games (work puzzles, checkers) etc. They can help in the facilities with laundry, water plants, answer the phone, clerical duties, help serve meals, pick up meals. "We are a community that focus on equipping, educating, promoting health, and wellness. We are the largest Emergency Food Pantry Ministry in Cleveland County. We feed in excess of 4,000 clients monthly. We provide a weekly soup kitchen to the community. We provide meals on wheels to senior citizen and the disabled. We provide weekly Back Packs to the Elementary School and to our After School Program. We provide an 8-week Summer Camp for youth where they can have two hot meals and an evening snack before returning home. We provide help and wellness education and resources to the community. Mediation Center of the Southern Piedmont
The Mediation Center of the Southern Piedmont is a non-profit organization serving Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties.
The mission of the Center is to provide mediation services and restorative justice programs to assist people in resolving their disputes in a confidential, affordable, and peaceful manner by providing trained mediators in a neutral setting.
Mediation Center of the Southern Piedmont provides volunteer opportunities to middle and high school students through the Cleveland County Teen Court program.
