What is National BETA Club?
National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America and prepares today's students to be tomorrow's leaders. The organization recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement in school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for your child to develop interpersonal relationship skills.
Who do we look for?
Students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, are motivated towards helping better our community, are eager to volunteer, exemplify worthy character, and maintain a commendable attitude, and above all students who give their all!
STANDARDS OF MEMBERSHIP
Achievement: Students maintain a 90% or higher weighted average, demonstrating at- or above-grade level for membership in the National Senior Beta Club.
Service: Members complete 10 hours each semester, or 15 hours for Gold Level Distinction.
Attendance: Club meetings will be held bi-monthly, with additional club activities as announced. Each student must attend a minimum of 1 meeting each semester to remain an active member.
Character and Behavior: The character and behavioral requirements for membership in the National Senior Beta club are no in-school or out-of-school suspensions.
LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP
A member of this National Senior Beta club may be put on probation or dropped from membership for the following reasons:
• Failure to attend at least one meeting each semester without a justifiable reason.
• Academic record falls below 90%.
• Failure to attain at least 10 service hours each semester without a justifiable reason.
• Assignation of in-school or out-of-school suspensions.
If and when a member is put on probation, they have the opportunity to be added back on the active school roster upon meeting requirements again. If and when a member is dropped from membership, a record of this action shall be relayed to the National Office of National Senior Beta immediately.
