Overview

Our Ocean World is an introductory level course about Earth through the study of its largest feature and system, the Ocean. In this class you will be examining Earth's surficial environment through the lens of oceanography, biology, geology, chemistry, and physics. This course is delivered through in class instruction, labs, Google Classroom, and Virtual Reality trips

For this class you are required to have a laptop or computer and regular access to the internet.

Course Description

Students will learn the incredible influence oceans have on our lives. An investigation into the historical, geological, physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the ocean environment will be pursued. Learning the basic scientific principles within a marine framework will allow students to make informed decisions about our global environment. By the conclusion of this course, the goal is to have a student prepared for future environmental discussions and the ability to make decisions as informed global citizens.
