It is important for your child to read every night. There are different expectations for the length of time to read for each trimester.
First Trimester - 10 minutes
Second Trimester - 20 minutes
Third Trimester - 30 minutes
A copy of the words your child needs to practice can be found in your child's D.O.T. binder.
Rainbow Writing
Write the word in pencil and trace in three colors
Playdough
Make snakes to form letters and build words
Salt
Have a plate of salt, use the eraser on your pencil or your finger to write the word
Sand
Have a plate of sand, use the eraser on your pencil or your finger to write the word
For the daring, try shaving cream or pudding.
Follow the salt/sand procedure but use your finger instead of your pencil
Alphabet Letters on the fridge
Call out the words to your child and have them build it
Use bathtub/window crayons
