As of April 13, BASD will transition from voluntary learning opportunities to teacher-directed planned instruction which is now required. Students will receive communication from their teachers regarding weekly assignments.
As a district, we will continue to house and provide voluntary virtual and/or unplugged learning activities on this site to keep students meaningfully engaged if they desire or require further enrichment and review beyond their teacher-directed, planned instruction.
All students in BASD have access to a website called IXL. The IXL site allows purposeful practice in many content areas, however, our current suggestions focus on English/Language Arts and Math.
In the near future, classroom/homeroom teachers will communicate your child’s login information for the IXL platform.
The IXL site has a Diagnostic tool that can be used to pinpoint students’ strengths and opportunities for growth. Please find more information about IXL and their Diagnositc tool on the IXL tab within this site.
The Diagnostic is an ongoing assessment of skills that grows with the child. This is IXL's way to continuously provide targeted practice. IXL recommends that students complete 10-15 questions in the Diagnostic tool each week. BASD is not requiring students to access IXL or the Diagnostic tool, however, parents who choose to use this tool may find this information useful. Please see IXL page on this website for more information on the Diagnostic tool in IXL and how parents can support their children with IXL during this break.
