In the summer before my sophomore year, I explored the different fields of science and research, honing in on the female reproductive system with a focus on polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. This went on the influence my own research aspirations and led me to find a mentor within the field of gynecology.
Later in the year, I found my mentors, Hilary Lowitz and Dr. Sara Rabin-Havt, at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. With their help, I was able to formulate a research question and begin developing my research plan. With this plan, I then competed at the Somers Science Fair and participated in the Science Research Symposium soon after that.
