Science research is a 3 year program where students select a topic they are passionate about to study and learn more about. Science research students seek out a mentor to help them develop their project and answer any questions they might have along the way. After formulating a project, students enter into competitions where they get to display all of the hard work they have done throughout the year. Over the 3 years of science research, students not only learn more about a STEM topic of their choice, but they learn vital life skills such as communication, resourcefulness, perseverance, and time management.
I am currently a senior at Fox Lane High School. For my first 2 years of science research, I researched the female reproductive field, specifically intrauterine growth restricted placentas. I am currently studying the effect of social media on adolescent mental health.
Outside science research, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball and running. I am an advisory board member on the President's Junior Leadership Council (PJLC) at Northern Westchester Hospital where I get to advocate for the public health of adolescents in our community. Some other hobbies of mine include baking, reading, hiking, and spending time with my friends.
